Farewell January 2010!!!

Hey Everyone! If there is anyone. Hello? Knock, knock? Oh well I'll just talk to myself. :) Well I've had a pretty good week playing wild games (wink), hangin' out with friends, and going to talks on wolves (double wink). But as January departs I would like to address something amazing that I saw this month. It was a pleasant Sunday afternoon perhaps about noon when I heard an owl hoot. I was momentarily paralyzed. I thought 'NO WAY!!!!!'. I raced outside and saw the owl hooting in a tree that was at the bottom of my yard. I bolted down to get a better view. The owl sat there on the bottom branches of the tree, hooting regally. As I approached the owl leaned forward and stared me straight in the eyes. I sat there in total awe. I was amazed that the owl was so fearless. It was so close I could have reached out and touched its face. It stared hooting every so often, entirely ignoring the nearby kids who were running and shouting. It had golden/amber eyes and ruffled white feathers on his throat. And its tail looked a tad like a squirrel's. Often times I can here the owls hooting. It is truly amazing. The other night there was a whole chorus of owls. In addition to being gorgeous, they are extremely funny. For example we have a fake great horned owl on our roof and one night I went outside and a great horned owl was perched on the fake great horned owls head. And on that note I would like to bid farewell to January 2010.

Bye,
Mousy
