Camping History

I'm really sorry about not writing for so long! Thankfully I have returned with a tale to tell! My parents brought Goofy, another friend we'll call her Lilac, another friend we'll call her Pom-Pom (I'll explain the names Pom-Pom and Lilac in a moment) and I camping for my birthday!

Now to explain the names Pom-Pom and Lilac. You see we all made up camp nicknames I was Dandelion, Goofy was Pocahontas, Lilac was Lilac, Pom-Pom was Pom-Pom, my dad was T-Rex ( I'll explain that in a minute), and my mom was Princess Leia. for short we were Dandy, Pokey, Lilac (she didn't want to be Li or Lac, not that I blame her), Pom, Rex, and Leia.

Why we called my dad T-Rex is because we were racing a boat on the way to the campsite (which was in the Snake River Valley) and so we were trying to cheer him on but we couldn't come up with anything that flowed. My dad has rodent nicknames for us all (except Pom-Pom) and so we tried to come up with a rodent when Goofy suggested that we call him some kind of dinosaur so we came up with T-Rex.

Later that afternoon we were swimming in the Snake River. Part of it had a rope with floaty things in it so we figured to swim in that area so we wouldn't get hit by boats. Anyway Lilac dared us to swim and touch the line which was about a hundred feet out. Goofy and I excepted. The first half of it was freezing I said that we were going to die of Hypothermia. the second half it was really hard to breathe and my throat was tightening I was seriously afraid we were going to die. When I finally got to a point were I could touch I was extremely relieved. After that we all wrapped up in towels and went to the play ground to lay on anything warm we could possibly find. Lilac is three years older than Goofy, Pom, and I so she is considerably taller than any of us and had the idea to get on top of the metal swing set. After hearing Lilac say how warm it was up there Goofy and I, who were especially cold made lots of attempts to get up there, which rather amused Lilac. Finally Lilac helped us up (Pom-Pom hadn't gotten very wet so she was content to stay on the swings under us).

When finally warmed up we headed back to camp and played Imagineiff with a girl we had met down by the river. For the rest of the afternoon we rode bikes, climbed trees, played at the park, made my mom a bouquet of flowers, and played down at the beach. Finally we came back to camp help build the fire. Then for dinner we roasted hot dogs and my mom made baked beans and we all ate chips (altogether DELICIOUS). Then I opened presents! Goofy and Pom-Pom (who are sisters) gave me Harry Potter CLUE and glow-stick lanterns and Lilac gave me sea monkeys! After that we made smores and played bible charades. Eventually we all went to sleep.

When we woke up we made a fire and went down to the beach for more kindling. Basically that morning we took care of the fire and helped make breakfast.

Later we went bike riding, played in the park, and went down to the beach. At the beach we saw a bunch of Canadian Geese familys. We also found a inlit that I call Goose Island and saw a bunch of Goose and racoon tracks.

On our way home we stopped at a Lewis and Clark museum and we bought these really cool flutes, we also saw a movie on Lewis and Clark. We stopped at Costco which made me happy because I was the only one of the four of us who hadn't been there. After we were done shopping my dad treated us all to some ice cream. All in all it was a great camping trip.

Bye,
Mousy
